PADI Dive MasterThank you for your interest in Great Lakes Dive Locker's PADI Dive master Certification program. Because the role of a PADI Dive master is so diverse it is difficult to precisely define. There is however , one common characteristics in virtually all definitions of Dive masters that is helpful in understanding just what is meant by the term. The characteristic is responsibility. No other single term so adequately defines what a Dive master is. The responsibility for orienting, and at sometimes, responsible for nearly every aspect of safe diving. The rewards of being a PADI Dive master in terms of personal satisfaction and achievement are unparalleled. The responsibly is a considerable one for any diver to make the decision; great consideration should be taken, not a decision in haste. Prerequisite:In order to qualify for PADI Dive master training, one must first be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver and be at least 18 years of age. Dive master must possess emotional maturity in order to take on the responsibility for the safety of others. Like wise, an equally high degree of physical stamina and diving skill - much more that that required by the average diver. The goals of the Dive master course are:

Divemaster manuals and slates are included in training fees. Because of the nature of training required for PADI Dive master rating, you will need to be equipment with scuba gear considered to be state-of-the-art. Your instructor will inspect your equipment when you begin your program. Work at your own speed or in a group, both options are available. In any event the Dive Master rating is a deeply rewarding experience and has lasting benefits on the safety of diving in general. We consider a dedicated, well trained Dive Master to be the backbone of the diving industry.
